It’s a hard time. As constellations work tells us, systems can be expected to fall apart when disorder goes too far, and we are seeing that. Not only seeing it, but experiencing it – not at a distance, some other country or people who are suffering, but us, and everyone.
Constellations also teaches us that love undergirds everything, and that systems seek new forms of balance. We have that to remember, and to look forward to. In the meantime, there is a lot of re-adjusting, and for some of us, more than that: real suffering, loss and heart-ache. I share this with you.
In the midst of that, there are practical issues. I am announcing some changes in my services. For the time being, all of my sessions will be online, and for March, group constellations are being canceled, with probably more cancellations down the road. I do this for all the obvious reasons, including the directives of the California Department of Public Health.
This is a time of uncertainty. Needless to say, I as much as anyone am figuring this out as I go along. It is unprecendented. We are all doing the best we can with little direction. As a result, I am sure I will be announcing more cancellations and changes in the near future. You can see all of my current details and future updates on my new News Page and my regular Events Page on my website. Please check them out. I ask for your compassion, as a solo business owner, if I get things wrong or have to change direction. Let’s do this together!
Much of the news has included the history of past pandemics, as we try to learn from the past. That reminds us that our ancestors have gone through these kinds of experiences, and suffered as we are now. They are a source of wisdom and support in these days. I invite us to lean on them, if we can.
We will also need to lean on each other. I invite you to share your stories, worries, hopes, truths on my blog. Please, take care of yourselves and each other.
So I’ve heard from my Grandma Hazel, that she (19 years old) and Grandpa Stub (a couple years older) met when they both showed up to help Nellie, Hazel’s sister, and her family. Nellie and family were “down” with the Spanish influenza – the Pandemic of 1918. Subsequently, Hazel and Stub married and their 5 children were born. It is possible I might not be here if it weren’t for the Spanish flu. Food for thought!
Wow! What a story. Basically, you wouldn’t be here except for the Spanish Flu epidemic. That’s amazing. Thanks for sharing this story Roxanne. May the ancestral stories begin!
